FEATURED FUTURE: DAMILOLA (DIETCHEF)
Naturally a food lover and a die-hard fan of creative chefs. I had to bring a chef as a guest on the show, not only because of her amazing food but about her creativity. Let's throw the magic confetti and have us an amazing show.
WNG: Let’s get to know you?
DIETCHEF: My name is Damilola Orija. I am a Certified Nutritionist from Babcock University with culinary training.
WNG: What inspires the content you put out?
DIETCHEF: 3. I see a lot of misinformation out there and a lot of fear surrounding food and being fat and I want to educate people in way that doesn’t promote fear.
WNG: What is it like being a creative chef? Is it tasking?
DIETCHEF: A creative chef? Yes, it is tasking trying to combine Nutrition and Culinary art in a creative way. Every food I put out took a lot of thinking and planning because it must teach my followers something about nutrition.
So sometimes, it’s not easy to stay on brand and do nutrition education with food. But regardless, I enjoy it.
I enjoy researching healthier ways to achieve everyday food.
WNG: That’s a lot of researching. What collaborations do you look forward to?
DIETCHEF: I look forward to collaborating with Meghan of Academy of Culinary Nutrition.
WNG: Creative struggle?
DIETCHEF: Simplifying big nutrition English so my audience can understand it.
Sometimes, I don’t want to water down the whole thing but I know that it’s easier to communicate when it’s simple.
It’s just not easy to simplify these things and break them down so well because people can easily misunderstand somethings
WNG: Does content creation affect your daily life?
DIETCHEF: Yes, it absolutely does. I have to plan my week around content creation. Plan when I’ll go to the market to buy ingredients. Plan when I’ll cook. Plan when I’ll shoot.I also look for content in my everyday life.
“Oh, I’m eating an orange” “Great opportunity to teach on the importance of fruits.” Things like that.
WNG: Can you share some creative tips?
DIETCHEF: Look around you. Open your mind and eyes. Feed your eyes with beautiful content on Pinterest, behance and you’ll see yourself recreating beautiful things. Go out of your way to learn how people get certain results. Invest in knowledge
WNG: A chef secret?
DIETCHEF: Garlic is amazing, you might disagree, but it is.
WNG: What part of Brazil is in London?
DIETCHEF: The L
WNG: Why do I feel you accessed the internet? Well, any special project we should look forward to?
DIETCHEF: Yees!!!
